Shuji Ogino, MD, PhD, MS, is the founding Chief of Molecular Pathological Epidemiology (MPE) Program, Brigham and Women’s Hospital; Professor of Pathology, Harvard Medical School; Professor (Epidemiology), Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health; Associate Member of Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard; Member of DFHCC Cancer Immunology Program. He conducts multifaceted MPE studies using large-scale prospective cohort studies, having discovered the link between fiber-poor / inflammatory diet and higher incidence of colorectal cancer enriched with Fusobacterium nucleatum as well as evidence for suppressive effect of F. nucleatum on T-cell-mediated antitumor immunity. For his unique transdisciplinary scientific contribution, Dr. Ogino has received many awards and honors.
