The Division of Nutrition (DON) is comprised of over 100 faculty and students across Harvard affiliate hospitals - Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Joslin Diabetes Center, VA Boston Healthcare System, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Cambridge Health Alliance -  conducting research in a large breadth of fields within nutrition from basic, translational, clinical, and public health.

The Nutrition Obesity Research Center at Harvard (NORCH) is a closely afflilated research center and one of twelve Nutrition Obesity Research Centers funded by the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive, and Kidney Diseases. The NORCH was established in 1994, and Dr. Steve Grinspoon has served as the principal investigator since 2015. The Center is comprised of an Administrative Core and three Biomedical Cores- Genomics & Cell Biology, Metabolic Imaging, and Metabolic Phenotyping. NORCH provides Pilot & Feasibility Grants related to Nutrition, Obesity, and Metabolism that are awarded yearly.
 
The NORCH supports a research base of over 100 investigators in nutrition, obesity and metabolism in the Boston area and beyond by providing services to investigators in the form of statistical support and coordinated Core services. The NORCH staff aims to foster a research community with active exchange of ideas and building of collaborations, with a particular focus on supporting junior investigators in nutrition and obesity research. Additionally, the NORCH hosts an annual symposium and provides pilot and feasibility funding for research related to nutrition, obesity and metabolism.
